The Raven

The movie takes place in Maryland in the 19th century. A serial killer is on the loose in the city. All murders have one thing in common; they are based on works by Edgar Allan Poe. The famous author (played by John Cusack) has become a poor, drunken soul, but he still does his best to help the police with their investigation. When the killer kidnaps the woman Poe loves, the investigation turns into a race against time…

Good actors, nicely filmed, and also pretty exciting. However, you cannot get away from the feeling that the story is somewhat constructed. One spectacular murder after the other…and then a serial killer that cannot help but leave clues…but the movie is still entertaining.
