The Fire Witness by Lars Kepler

The pseudonym Lars Kepler made headlines a few years back when the couple behind it did not want to reveal their identities. Speculations were in full force and finally Alexander and Alexandra Ahndoril confessed they were behind the best seller The Hypnotist. The sequel The Nightmare was also an international success. The third novel The Fire Witness features Detective Inspector Joona Linna, who we got to know in the first two books.

What Does the Medium Know?

A girl and a woman are murdered at an institution for young women with destructive behavior. Another girl ran away the night of the murder and quickly becomes the main suspect, but what would her motive be? The self-proclaimed spiritual medium Flora Hansen contacts the police claiming that the dead girl is visiting her. Joona is obviously suspicious, but somehow Flora knows details that no one outside the investigation should know, so he decides to meet with her.

Violent and Unexpected Turns

I have read all three of the novels, and this one is definitely my favorite, although it is a bit on the violent side. The book contains many unexpected turns, and it keeps you on your toes. I definitely made sure my doors were all locked while reading this novel.
