It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

It is December and the holiday season is here and everything that goes with it. It can be absolutely wonderful! But it can also be stressful…gifts to buy, events to plan, a lot of things to wrap up at work before the end of the year and then you should preferably spend a lot of time with family and friends as well. To find time to wind down and just enjoy the season can be difficult.

Handling Holiday Stress

My best advice for handling holiday stress is to make sure you get at least one evening to yourself in December. I usually relax in a bath with a TV series on the tablet, or stay on the couch with a blanket and a book. If that is not feasible you can listen to an audiobook while you are doing chores. Reading is a bit unsocial, so as an alternative you find a crime fiction movie/series that you can watch with your family, e.g. the classic movie “Home Alone”. Holiday feeling deluxe as well as criminals to be caught.

A few books to get into the holiday spirit

Hercule Poirot’s Christmas by Agatha Christie

Murder and Almond Scent by Camilla Läckberg

The Mistletoe Murder: And Other Stories by P.D. James

The Santa Klaus Murder by Mavis Doriel Hay

Silent Nights: Christmas Mysteries by Martin Edwards
